NEW ENGLAND COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS URGED TO APPLY FOR VOLUNTEER GRANTS

Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce, said grants of between $1000 and $5000 were up for grabs for eligible volunteers in New England.

“Volunteers donate countless hours of their time and often pay for their own petrol and vehicle costs travelling to help out in bushfires, deliver Meals on Wheels, provide a cup of tea at Driver Reviver stops, and assist injured wildlife - just to name a few.

“Up to $132,450 is available in New England as part of the 2021 Volunteer Grants round,” Mr Joyce said.

Eligible not-for-profit community organisations in New England must submit their Expressions of Interest Form to Mr Joyce’s Office before 5pm Wednesday, 28 April, 2021.

“The grants will help volunteers and volunteer groups to buy small equipment for volunteers, by reimbursing volunteer fuel, transport or training costs, or support promotional activities,” Mr Joyce said.

Organisations must meet the eligibility criteria and successful applicants will be announced in November.
