A BRAND-NEW Toyota Hilux dual cab ute has been delivered to the Glen Innes Natural Resources Advisory Committee (GLENRAC), thanks to a $61,353 grant under the former State Government’s Community Building Partnership program.

Mr Marshall, who handed over the kays yesterday, said the new vehicle would keep everyone moving safely and will help the GLENRAC team travel many kilometres to assist the region’s landholders with natural resource management projects and events.

“I was thrilled to officially hand over the keys to the new Toyota Hilux yesterday and take a little test drive, along with GLENRAC staff,” Mr Marshall said.

“The dual cab ute will keep everyone moving safely and I have no doubt it will be put to good use right across our region.

“In recent times, GLENRAC has increased the number of volunteers and staff and it became apparent that a second vehicle was needed to help with the increased demand from the community for services.

“The new ute is a huge step forward for GLENRAC, providing them with a vehicle suitable to comfortably carry additional passengers as well as materials needed for events such as field days and their popular Smoko with Friends events across the district.

“It will also help connect the community with information, services and resources to support land management goals.”

GLENRAC CEO Kylie Falconer said they were already enjoying full use of the new vehicle and appreciated the support from the State Government.

“GLENRAC is enjoying the use of our new vehicle since its delivery in early August,” Ms Falconer said.

“It is a big step up from our existing vehicle and our staff and volunteers appreciate the support of CBP to ensure the safety and comfort as we travel across the district to deliver our activities to farmers and the wider community.”
